Some of our shenanigans

Here are just a few fun moments caught on camera that I want to remember.

Sam and Ada climbing trees on the walk home from Sam's preschool.

Every time we have boxes from packages or from a trip to Costco, the kids beg to re-purpose them into fun creation. I love that they are creative with them, but I hate tripping over them for the next week and finding scraps of cardboard everywhere.

Just "helping" Dad with his work.

We love the penny horse rides at King Soopers, this store had a double one, even better!

What a couple of cuties!

Ada is so fun these days with her imagination. Sam made a stick horse at school for a "rodeo" (see pic below), and she needed a stick horse too.

I love this picture of her, it just seems to capture her personality, with the little twinkle in her eye.

She is at the inquisitive age and constantly saying funny things, one day during lunch she noticed some cobwebs on the light fixture and asked me what they were.  When I explained they were just dust, she corrected me and continued to tell me they were the stuff between her toes.

Boo!

This is what we have been hearing a lot lately. I guess this response is preferred to a tantrum when she doesn't get her way.

Beautiful

I said to Ada while combing her hair, "look how crazy you hair is."
She immediately responded confidently " it not cwazy, it bootiful!"
You're right baby girl, it is beautiful, snarled and crusted with food and snot as it is, she has one great head of hair.

Spring 2014

Here are few more pictures of the kids being kids, and our family having fun.

Below, they are pretending the ottoman is a space ship.  Of course getting all three to look at the camera and give a nice smile is near impossible, so we'll settle for this.

The kids lucked out when their Dad insisted on taking everyone to Disney on ice.  I was a little worried that Ada and Sam might be a little bored, but along with a few well timed snacks, they were captivated the entire 2 hour show.  It was a lot of fun.  Thanks for the great idea Mike!

Dennison was eager to participate in his school's science fair this spring.  It was a little difficult with my science teacher background for me to hand over the reins and let him complete his project at his own first grade level.  He did a fantastic job investigating what types of materials were attracted to magnets.  He of course impressed the judges with his enthusiasm and snagged the highest score in his grade.  Great work Dennison!

One day during spring break, we took out the bikes and headed to the park for a picnic.  It's so nice when the weather warms up enough to get back outside and play!

Adaline's petite stature never stops her from being overly ambitious to follow the big kids everyone, she loves climbing and going down the big slides with her brothers.

We also visited DeNae and Brendon, who spoil the kids with all kinds of attention.

Warm weather means a picnic lunch everyday!

Of course, spring means Easter! Egg dying and hunting is always fun for everyone.

One of the young women at church works for a  dentist and loves to pull teeth, which is fantastic since I really don't enjoy it and Dennison has had a couple that needed to be pulled.  Thanks Marie!

I can't believe how fast this girl is growing up.  She loves playing outside with Sam and tries to do everything he does, including climb trees. What a fun duo these are when Dennison is at school.

We had several attempts at kite flying this spring.  The only problem is finding the perfect wind. It seems to be either not enough, or crazy strong.  Sam and Dennison were persistant and did find success a few times.

Summer 2013 fun

After the last post, which was mostly complaining, I thought I would document we also managed to squeeze in some good times as well.

We went on a short hike with the kids up Poudre Canyon, and this year the cicadas, were everywhere.  The boys were fascinated by this one.

The church parking lot around the corner from my sister's was the favorite bike riding destination, whether it was riding through puddles after rainstorms, or zipping down the zigzag sidewalk obstacle course, this was a much needed afternoon sanity escape.

Out for an evening swim at city park pool.

A trip to the beach at Bear Creek Lake Park with some friends.

Bike riding through "prairie dog village" in Clement Park.

Nothing entertains kids like water...and these two could always be found playing in it, usually in their clothes.

Our stake did a  "Mormon Helping Hands" service project to build a new playground at a park just up the gulch from us.

Dennison started first grade in mid August.

Ada's favorite treat was crawling around the drive way, picking up rotting crab apples that had fallen from the tree to munch on....yum?  She would get so angry when you took them away from her.

"Spiderman" Sam could often be spotted leaping through the house.

I also plan on posting more on some bigger adventures we had this summer, but these were just a few fun moments that I didn't want to forget!

Our Time at the Camerons

The Camerons have been so generous opening thier doors to our family and letting us stay with them.  When we first got here, we thought it would only be a couple of weeks, maybe a month, that we would need to stay.   Although the accomodations here are great, with plenty of room, its quite a commute for Mike to work.  Here are a few of the fun moments that we've had,

A tree planting party in the backyard where a whole crew came to plant 6 huge blue spruce trees.

Some CRAZY snow storms that just kept dumping and dumping snow.  DeNae made sure the boys got out to have some snow fun.

An epic snow fort Brendon and DeNae helped build.

The next day the snow fort was no more.

DeNae and Brendon's house only has a geriatric walk in tub which is too deep for the baby, so she bathes in a storage bin, it works.

Best Aunt Ever!

Digging for worms in another tree planting party.

Dennison is quite good at making Ada laugh.  Makes life easier when he decides to help out entertaining her while I am trying to get something done.

We've had lots of fun exploring different playgrounds where ever we happen to be.

These two managed lock themselves in here more than once, despite my forbidding it. Boys can't resist climbing in and on things. One time I couldn't find Sam but I heard faint crying, I was starting to panic because I couldn't find him, and finally discovered his new secret spot.

Sam got to take a trip to the hardware store with Brendon and discovered quiet a few fun things.

DeNae gave the kids LOTS of attention and made special efforts to read to them and play with them.

Side walk chalk turned war paint,  thanks Nae. Coloring with chalk will never be the same.

There were many more fun moments that we didn't get pictures of but these are a few of the highlights.  We are really grateful that the Cameron's opened their home to our family for several months, as you'll notice from the pics, our stay spanned 3 seasons.  We were very comfortable and had lots of fun.  I hope that they aren't too scarred for life as a result.  We will never forget our time there! We love you guys!
