Project Updates

Whenever I talk to people on the phone, it never seems like I have anything to share and then I think that we are boring, but we really do keep ourselves busy. Mike is always coming up with new ideas to improve our house and yard and loves to put in the work to get things done. Below are a couple of the projects we finally completed this spring.

Project #1 Backyard

BEFORE:

I'm sure the sandbox was nice when it was first built, but by the time we came around it was a glorified litter box growing some really exotic fungi. Removing the sandbox as we as getting rid of the stump were a major undertaking.

Digging out all the debris from the stump grinding was quite a process, but eventually the pile dwindled and we had plenty of mulching material to complete the new space in the yard.

AFTER:

Project #2 Parking Strip

Mike was tired of having to water the weeds that had taken over the parking strip and started the process of tearing out what was left of the grass and putting in something that was going look nice but also be easier to maintain. We had the city plant a tree, put in some decorative grasses and even a couple of day lilies. Mike put in a drip irrigation system and used some of the wood chips from the backyard, and the project came together. I'm sure the neighbors are happy there are no longer weeds or a pile of dirt.
