Snow fun!

This winter provided many opportunities to get out in the cold and have a little fun.  Here are just some fun pictures of us playing in the snow!

Ada insists on helping shovel the driveway and walks.

The elementary school in the back of our house has some little hills that are  perfect for short outings.

Dennison's latest is a sport he likes to call "sledboarding", where you stand up and go down the hill.  I'm pretty sure every kid does this, but he is pretty convinced he invented it. He even gets tricky and jumps up as the sled is headed.

It's so much fun to sled with Ada, she absolutely loves it, and wants to stay out forever, even when her boots are falling off and her poor little fingers are frozen.  Its so cute to see such a tiny person go down all by herself.  And then she insists on walking up the hill "by myself!".  She is the first kid that demands to walk up on her own, instead of being pulled.

DeNae came for a visit one afternoon when we got a decent amount of snow.

A few days later, we go another huge storm, and the kids attempted some sledding in the front yard while Mike was shoveling.

I wanted a picture of him making a snow angel looking up at the camera, he couldn't keep his eyes open though with the snowflakes falling down.  Ada had to do it too!

One Saturday, we ventured over to sledding hill park for a little bit larger of a hill.  It was a fun ride, but the hike back to the top seemed to take forever! I was nervous the first couple of times down on a faster sled because I had Simon strapped on my front, but he just stayed cozy and took a nice little nap.

After watching some other dads, Mike thought it would be fun to go down on his belly with the kids on top.  They each took a turn using dad as their sled.

In between all the snow, we had a nice springlike warm up, and decided to check out Waterton canyon.  It was a beautiful day to get out,  while the kids rode their bikes and we strolled with the little ones.  We even got to check out some big horn sheep up close and personal.

What a year for snow! I love when kids think they have "invented" something, it just reminds us that they really are looking at the world with wide eyes, everything for the first time!
